dapB
dapB encodes for dihydrodipicolinate reductase, an enzyme playing a key role in the biosynthesis of DAP which serves as a direct precursor of lysine. Both compounds are necessary for the survival of bacterial cells, therefore a knockout of dapB results in a strain auxotrophic for both compounds.
